Contractor Challenge - 2¶
Having a plan is key to success. It is far too easy to either:
- Presume that the intention is clear to everyone on the team, when there is likely more ambiguity.
- Presume you will just figure it out on the fly.
These tendencies often lead to suboptimal results.
Develop a plan of attack¶
Over the next 30 minutes, develop a plan to get every IP address assigned to network infrastructure into DNS. Points of consideration:
- Physical, logical (SVI, loopbacks, etc) interfaces
- NAT IP addresses
- Load Balancer VIP IPs
- What the DNS names format should be
- The continuous synchronization of all entries (to remove IPs no longer used)
The plan can/should include:
- Logical high-level steps to take
- Stubbed out folder structure
- Stubbed out function/class structure
- Access requests you may have
You will present your solution at the end, given 5 minutes to present.
